PRIVILEGED CUSTOMER @ LA PRINCESSE

Shalini is one of my old clients who has been getting her clothes made with me for more than a decade now. She has an apple body structure and each time the silhouette has to be made in a manner that camouflages her lower half  of the body.

She is seen wearing a red striped dress worked with thread embroidery. In the next picture, she is seen wearing a sunny yellow salwar suit which is worked with flowers in multi coloured hues. The third picture shows her wearing a maroon kora silk dress with scattered stones.

Tip of the Day

Embrace this new year with gorgeous ruffles, lace and a dash of shimmer and a flurry of peplum. Keep it simple, glamorous and celebratory.

PRIVILEGED CUSTOMER @ LA PRINCESSE

Monalisa is a new customer who came to me on recommendation of her family friend. She wanted to design her first sari with me. Hence I suggested that she make a one minute sari for herself as it would not only look ethnic but also easy to drape. It simply has to be wrapped around the body rather than set the pleats.

A combination of blood red, olive green and gold, the fabrics used are Benares georgette, crushed bandhej silk and tissue. An ethnic mirror work border has been attached along with a thin velvet border to enhance the dramatic effect of the sari.

The blouse has been designed in a traditional manner to contrast the contemporary look of the sari. A red and green combination velvet border has been used to enhance the colour base of the blouse along with pearls hangings at the edge of the back neck.

She is also wearing an Anarkali set in the next picture which is in a combination of black and blue in net fabric. The sleeves are set in sheer. The extra length was used to cut and attach as cuff for sleeves.

Tip of the Day

The versatility of an oversized cardigan is amazing. It works with almost all looks.

Tip of the Day

Black and white is a classic combination. Although it can get very safe and boring, you can give it an interesting twist by playing with textures and prints.

Palazzo pants suit most body types as they almost look like a maxi skirt and they are not fitted anywhere else except the waist.

PRIVILEGED CUSTOMERS @ LA PRINCESSE

Christina, Gifta and Sheeba came to me for getting bridesmaid clothes done. Each had a pattern and style. I just helped them with the outcome of the styles they had in mind. Each of them chose well according to their body shape.

They are wearing a gown made out of rich satin in garnet colour and Christina has a shimmer net over the satin with a shrug. While Gifta and Sheeba used a lot of rouching over their dress to enhance the body shape. They all were extremely happy with the result.

In fact, they recommended another client to me who came to get sari blouse designed in my store.
As a thanksgiving, La Princesse would like to present you with a gift voucher. Kindly check your email for further details.

Tip of the Day

Don't buy anything thinking that it will be "just right" if you gain or lose weight. Live in the moment and look good now. If the size of the tag bothers you, cut it off or black it out with a marker.

Tips on Preserving Expensive Clothes

Wrap the clothes in white cotton or muslin before storing. This will help in preserving the color and the sheen on the dress.
If you do not plan to wear these clothes for a few months, do not iron it before storing. It is better to iron it just before wearing it.
It is a good idea to air the clothes, away from direct sunlight, twice a year.
Never use napthalene balls along with heavy clothes with zari work on it, as they will get tarnished.
Avoid spraying perfume directly on the zari embroidery of such clothes.
If clothes have perspiration smell, dry clean them before storing them away and remember to give them only to a trusted launderer.
If the clothes have got stained while usage, never pack them inside before getting rid of them. They may turn out to be a stubborn stain.
Fabrics should not be over exposed to sunlight.
