Hey friends,

I am going on a tour for the pre Diwali collection. Will be back by first week of October. Looking forward to catching up with you all soon. Will keep you informed when the new collection is on the racks. Until then Ciao Folks! Take care. Lots of Love.
Judy is wearing her wedding gown designed in my store. It is made out of pure white satin and glass tissue. There is an overlapping of glass tissue in the skirt which is enhanced with pearls border at its edge. The bodice is also embroidered with white silk thread upto the neck line level which was left sheer. Further on the bust portion is embroidered with white silk thread and white pearls interspersed with few silver crystal sequins.
Judy was very sure at the outset that this is how she wanted her gown to be designed. She had come with her fiance and both of them patiently awaited the outcome of the dream dress for the bride. I gave her three trials for her dress and each time she returned back much happier. She has sent me her pictures as a token of appreciation. Thank you Judy and here is to you, I reciprocate your kind gesture by uploading your pictures in my column - Customer of the week.

Aarthi is wearing a similar sari designed in the Kalidar style but it is custom made for her in antique beige and wine combination. This was specially made for her Mehendi function. She looks stunning in this sari and it is nice to see a professional doctor dressed fashionably. Kudos to her for being able to carry it off so well. Aarthi is enjoying a phase in her life when she is enjoying marital bliss. May God Shower His Blessings upon the new couple and keep them both happy always.
I would like to share an interesting aspect about Aarthi. She is fascinated by pastleys. Her trousseau had almost all her clothes using this motif. It was a pleasure to design her blouses and saris with embroideries wherein the mango motif was liberally used. The most interesting aspect is that she had her wedding decoration and the wedding invitation card too incorporated with these motifs. I enjoy designing her clothes and it is a great pleasure to design something different always but with the basic mango motif. That has become her signature style.

CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK

Vilasini is wearing a Kalidar sari designed at La Princesse. The upper half sari is in antique brocade and the lower half is in georgette benaras. An ethnic embroidered border is attached to the sari to make it look more attractive. The kalis are set in such a way on the lower half of the sari that it also looks like she is wearing a ghagra sari.
Vilasini and Karthik are a lovely couple and make a very nice pair. They spread cheer whenever they visit my store and here is wishing them lots of happiness together.

Tips on Preserving Expensive Clothes

Wrap the clothes in white cotton or muslin before storing. This will help in preserving the color and the sheen on the dress.
If you do not plan to wear these clothes for a few months, do not iron it before storing. It is better to iron it just before wearing it.
It is a good idea to air the clothes, away from direct sunlight, twice a year.
Never use napthalene balls along with heavy clothes with zari work on it, as they will get tarnished.
Avoid spraying perfume directly on the zari embroidery of such clothes.
If clothes have perspiration smell, dry clean them before storing them away and remember to give them only to a trusted launderer.
If the clothes have got stained while usage, never pack them inside before getting rid of them. They may turn out to be a stubborn stain.
Fabrics should not be over exposed to sunlight.
