The sleeves are edged with colorful embroidery matching to the outfit and the dupatta, that is double shaded. The bottom is a crepe material in royal blue color. CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK

Sophia and Elango got recently married and this is their first Valentine's Day together after marriage. I wish them lots of happiness and a happy married life together. Sophia got her wedding gown designed with me. She wanted a few changes in the style, as we proceeded with her gown and ultimately we managed to create it to her satisfaction. I have specially put up the picture of their wedding card that was designed by Elango himself. He is a caricature artist and you can visit his website 'elosof' for more details related to his work. Sophia's gown is embroidered with a thin satin ribbon and swaroski stones were interspersed on the upper half of the bodice and layers were created with the tissue fabric. Satin was used as the lining and the first layer was lifted up on the side to give a cone like drape. Roses were also made out of tissue and attached as a broach on the body and the waist. Her sleeves were made in  puff style to add that vintage look to the gown. ...

CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK - SANDHYA

Sandhya is one of my oldest client with whom the store has grown from a mere business philosophy to its present outlook. She has become my best friend too and is the best critic through thick and thin. She is now gone to US on a vacation to spend time with her two lovely grand children. I miss her a lot. In the first picture, Sandhya is seen wearing a green and pink dress that is in Chanderi with a lovely dupatta. The pastley print on the fabric is in velvet and that is what makes it stand out prominently. In the next picture, she is seen wearing a silk sari in orange color. She wanted some traditional embroidery on it. Hence we made kundan work which is associated with temple jewelry. The motifs have been sparsely placed and the blouse has been made heavy with similar work. We have used white and fuschia color stones as a contrast to the sari. As a thanksgiving, La Princesse would like to present her with a gift coupon. Dear Sandhya, Kindly check your email for more details. I a...

CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK - SINDHU

Sindhu is a regular client in my store. She is a very shy girl who is gentle and soft spoken. She prefers wearing bright colors and has a round face shape that exudes natural youth and charm. In the first picture, she is seen wearing a striped salwar set in black and the fabric is jute cotton. The colors on the dress are striking and though it is a casual dress, it creates drama. She was sporting enough to pose in one of my dupatta draping styles which is draped on one shoulder and the other end knotted on finger. In the second picture, she is seen wearing a red and green combination salwar set. The fabric is cotton but the print looks similar to a tussar silk print. Hence it gives a striking look. She belongs to the Dramatic Style category which is one of my favorite categories in style. As a thanksgiving, La Princesse, would like to present her with a gift coupon. Dear Sindhu, Kindly check your email for more details .

CHRISTINA'S QUERIE ANSWERED

Many times people use words like Haute Couture or PrĂȘt- a-Porter and Avant Garde. Have you ever given it a thought what all this jargon means? Well, these are terms used by fashion designers to categorize their garments. Couture is the art of dress making and Haute Couture is fashion created by the art of dress making. The clothes that belong to this category are one of its kind, hand sown and a perfect fit made to suit your body structure. In other words, these are clothes that are custom made especially for you. These garments  are exclusively made for you and there will not be a repeat of the same design. Haute Couture is a French work and it means high sewing. PrĂȘt-a-Porter is ready to wear garments that can be chosen off the racks. These clothes are made in different sizes and may be less expensive because of the bulk production. The disadvantage in this category is that you will find several people wearing a similar dress in same colors. These garments are made in differ...
Niveditha is a tall and pretty girl who is slim and petite. She literally raids my store every fortnight checking out for good bargains. She is lucky most of the time as she definitely finds something for herself on the racks. In the first picture, she is seen wearing a white hand painted dress with a chiffon dupatta that is also painted with floral motifs. The salwar is diagonally striped in cotton that suits her body structure. The second picture shows her wearing a sleeveless kurthi and she wanted an ethnic dupatta matching her dress. The black dupatta is especially custom designed for her so that it matches her outfit. I have created an abstract design in painting for her and she was extremely happy with the effect. She is looking gorgeous in this dress. As a thanksgiving, La Princesse would like to present her with a gift coupon. Kindly check your email for more details, Niveditha.
