Tip of the Day

Petite women should try to stick with styles and cuts that elongate their bodies, making them look taller and more proportionate. Plus size women must pick clothes that are tailored and have structure without being too embellished.

Tip of the Day

Sunning fabrics before the monsoon is the key to preventing mildew.

Tip of the Day

Sequins are every designer's favourite element as they add drama to any dull looking attire and perk it up instantly. Glamorous gowns or casual clothes, none can escape the vitality of these miniature stars.

Abstract fashion is back with a bang! Indulge yourself with some gorgeous prints and get high on style.

Pep up your mood this rainy season by using colourful handbags like totes, clutches, satchels and box bags in shades of pink, green, blue, yellow and orange.

Look ultra feminine and elegant as you rock your pleats, the season's hot fashion trend.

Tip of the Day

Colour looks different on each one of us. What looks good on you might not look good on someone else. Be smart in analysing a shade when it is not meant for you.

Tip of the Day

It is best to avoid heavy looking footwear if you are a petite delicately built person. Also, if you are tall and willowy, it is best to avoid footwear which will make you look like a giraffe in a sari.

Tip of the Day

Fabrics like tissue, organza and organdie are stiff and can be avoided by people who are on the plus side. If you are thin, use your thinness to your advantage by wearing clothes that flatter your figure.

Tip of the Day

As far as possible, never copy, though imitation is the highest form of praise. Be a trend setter.

Privileged Customer For This Week - Niveditha Dhanush

Niveditha is a regular client at my store and has modelled for my article in Daily Thanthi newspaper. She is tall and graceful and a very patient client who gives me ample time to design her clothes. For all her mix and match clothing, she keeps taking my suggestions. She relies on me completely to give her the best and I feel obliged for the trust such clients have on me. In the first picture, she is seen wearing a mermaid Ghagra sari in a bright combination of fuschia and red worked intricately on the pleats. The velvet embroidery on the upper front of the sari adds elegance to this attire. She is wearing an aqua green and red combination sari in the next picture. This concept is based on Half and Half, meaning two different textures are joined to form one whole sari. In the next one she is seen sporting an OMS  which is the short form for one minute sari. It is in a combination of violet and lime green designed  in trend with the latest colours. Congratulations Nivedit...

Try experimenting colours with different accessories and get opinion of people who are close to you. Mothers are the best friends, goes an age old saying.

Tip of the Day

If you want to make a dramatic style, wear outfits with asymmetrical patterns. Abstract and geometric designs will suit. Bold accessories will match this style.

Tip of the Day

If the clothes have got stained while usage, never pack them inside before getting rid of them. They may turn out to be a stubborn stain.

Tip of the Day

Though most of us have a couple of favourite sandals, it is a good idea to rotate our footwear. Make it a point to use the other pairs at least once a week for variety and also give the favourite pair a much needed rest.

Tip of the Day

Shop for who you are and not for who you will be after five years from now.

Tip of the Day

If you want to appear taller than you are, wear a similar coloured top and bottom. A break in colour always stunts the look.
