Tip of the Day

Always shop with the principle 'Cost per Wear'  before indulging in shopping. When  you want to buy something, calculate its cost divided by how many times you can wear it.

Sobhitaa is one of my very old clients. She has been coming to me ever since she was a small kid. There is something very special about her style. She belongs to the Classic and Traditional style category. Her personal style is always the same with collar, that it has now become her signature style. She is wearing a jacquard and brasso combination salwar dress in yellow and blue combination. In the next picture, she is seen wearing a green and maroon combination salwar suit. Except for the dupatta drape, her dress style remains the same. The third picture, you can see her wearing a simple khadi dress, once again in a manner that is synonymous of her.

Dear Sobhithaa - As a thanksgiving, La Princesse presents you with a gift voucher. Kindly check your email for more details.

Note the nuances of a fragrance and then sniff some coffee beans. The smell of coffee should remove most traces of the perfume and you are ready to repeat the process with another fragrance.

Anarkali Kurtha in empire cut style with an attached dupatta is the latest trend and is a part of the spring summer collection fashion show by La Princesse. The golden hue of the dress is highlighted with ethnic embroidery done in stones and sequins. This style suits petite girls and is a head turner.

FASHION NEWS FROM LA PRINCESSE

Dhothi salwar which originated in the villages of Pakistan is in vogue. It is much preferred because it looks stylish and though the villagers wore it in cotton fabric for their comfort, we, designers prefer to give it an improvised look with different textures. The cowls that fall on the side of the salwar give a very trendy look to the kurthi worn with it. The kurthi is heavily worked with brass sequins for that exclusive party wear effect.

Priya is wearing a royal blue gown made out of satin and embroidered net. She was referred to my store by another client for whom I had made the wedding gown. The net is given in the skirt as a kali panel and the sleeves are in net to give that sheer effect and the net is draped in front and neatly pinned up with a broach. She was very happy with the outfit designed for her.

Srivarsha is wearing a blue green combination maxi. She is my regular client from Abu Dhabi who visits me annually. She is seen wearing a long dress with net and brocade. The green net with brocade lining adds elegance to the dress and the upper bodice has been highlighted with a drape of the brocade fabric clustered together on one shoulder with a stone broach. In the next picture, she is seen wearing a knee length dress made in velvet and printed satin to give that drape onto her body. It was amazing to see her having changed from a chubby girl to a slim and trim girl. This gave her the opportunity to wear textures like brocade and stiff net which otherwise I would generally avoid using it for her body structure.

As a thanksgiving, La Princesse, would like to present Priya and Srivarsha with a gift voucher. Kindly check your email for more details on same.

Tips on Preserving Expensive Clothes

Wrap the clothes in white cotton or muslin before storing. This will help in preserving the color and the sheen on the dress.
If you do not plan to wear these clothes for a few months, do not iron it before storing. It is better to iron it just before wearing it.
It is a good idea to air the clothes, away from direct sunlight, twice a year.
Never use napthalene balls along with heavy clothes with zari work on it, as they will get tarnished.
Avoid spraying perfume directly on the zari embroidery of such clothes.
If clothes have perspiration smell, dry clean them before storing them away and remember to give them only to a trusted launderer.
If the clothes have got stained while usage, never pack them inside before getting rid of them. They may turn out to be a stubborn stain.
Fabrics should not be over exposed to sunlight.
